The community of Brighton, in eastern Ontario, is surrounded by rich agricultural land with an abundance of apple orchards and roadside farmers' stalls. To bear witness to the bountiful apple harvest at the height of the harvesting season, Brighton celebrates its annual AppleFest festival over the last full weekend of September.
Most AppleFest activities are centred around the main street and nearby King Edward Park. Events include BBQs, a dog show, children's village, dances, a street fair, car show, arts and crafts show, dinners and a mammoth Saturday afternoon parade.
Plan a colourful weekend in the country and join us for this unique festival. Take advantage of one of the area's many bed and breakfast establishments or motels; enjoy AppleFest and explore Presqu’ile Provincial Park or take in the nearby wineries of Prince Edward County.
